Margie Wilson (right), manager of the Virginia Henderson International Nursing Library, demonstrates the system to four nurses who recently visited the honor society’s international headquarters in Indianapolis. Moore, president of Alpha Chapter; Julie Settles, a member of Alpha Chapter; Marie Louise Lord and Inger Johansson, both of Sweden, but presently working at Gjorvik University in Norway.

The Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International is working with the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and Decision Critical, Inc. to share best-practice innovations.

Through collaboration between the ANCC and the Virginia Henderson International Nursing Library, nurses from Magnet health care facilities were given the opportunity to submit applications for Magnet Practice Innovations for posting in the honor society’s electronic library.

The deadline for entries was February 1, and the ANCC will notify individuals whose applications have been accepted by May 2008. Accepted submissions will be posted in the library’s Magnet Practice Innovations online repository in June 2008.

Recent postings in the library include abstracts from the October 2007 ANCC Magnet Conference, the 2007 annual meeting of the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA), the honor society’s 18th International Nursing Research Congress and its 39th Biennial Convention.

Institutions interested in collaborating with the library to post conference abstracts as a collection should contact the library manager via e-mail at librarymanager@nursinglibrary.org.
